Today we released guidance to provide a process for hospitals and ambulatory surgery facilities to resume elective surgeries, procedures and admissions.

Using this guidance, these procedures and admissions can move forward as long as doing so won’t jeopardize the safety of patients and staff or hamper a hospital or surgical center’s ability to respond to COVID-19 emergencies.

We’ve been working with our hospital partners to ensure that Pennsylvanians who need treatment unrelated to COVID-19 can get it while making sure we stay prepared.

Kinesiotaping to Reduce Swelling Post Knee Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy diagnoses several knee problems, such as a torn meniscus. It can also repair the ligaments of the joint. There are minimal risks to this procedure, although recovery time and prognosis will depend on the severity of the knee problem and the complexity of the procedure.

Post any surgical procedure, eliminating swelling is a main focus in proper physical therapy care. Everyone's body is different in the way they heal. Some have difficulty reducing swelling, luckily here at Modern Therapeutics we have different techniques to reduce you're swelling, gain range of motion and improve strength.

Our patient Jamie in approximately 1 week after applying kinesiotape, her joint swelling reduced by 1.6 cm. She is now able to flex her knee beyond 90 degrees allowing her to walk with normal mechanics and no crutches.
