Behind the scenes, we’re in the final stages of preparing our new ACE suite in Lancaster, and we’re excited to be expanding our presence in the community. 🛠️✨
As part of that growth, we’ve welcomed new therapists at our Lancaster location, and they currently have immediate openings. If you’ve been thinking about counseling but have run into waitlists or timing challenges, this may be a great window to get started.
We serve Lancaster and the surrounding areas, supporting individuals and couples with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, relationship and marital challenges, anger management, substance use and addiction, mood and personality disorders, women’s issues, spirituality, and major life transitions. We also offer testing and evaluation services when appropriate. 🤍

💛 Invisible Scars Redeemed | A Free Healing Group for Women 💛

Not all wounds are visible.
Emotional, relational, domestic, and spiritual abuse can leave deep marks on identity, confidence, and self-worth.

Invisible Scars Redeemed is a six-week, trauma-informed group created to support women on a journey toward healing and restoration. In a safe and supportive space, participants will engage in therapeutic discussion, education, and restorative self-care practices including breathwork and guided meditation.

🗓 Mondays | March 9 – April 13
⏰ 4:00–5:00 PM

💲 No cost to participants (fully supported by ACE Psychological Services as part of our community outreach)

Men’s Mental Health Matters

An anonymous client shared this after starting therapy. We are posting it because many men need to hear this.

“For a long time, I kept everything inside.
The anxiety. The insecurity. The body dysmorphia.
The constant stress. The catastrophizing.
The workaholic pace I told myself was just normal.

Like a lot of men, I didn’t talk about it. I just pushed through and kept going.

But it wasn’t just exhausting me.

It started affecting my health, my sleep, my patience, and how I showed up for the people I love. It slowly bled into my relationships and was quietly destroying me.

Therapy changed everything.

A Safe Space for Healing

If you or someone you love is walking through a breast cancer diagnosis, you are not alone. One of our own, Danielle Grady, has created something truly meaningful here at ACE, and her story was recently featured in The Reporting Project. It is powerful, emotional, and filled with real hope.

Danielle’s journey began in 2017 when her world suddenly stopped. One phone call changed everything. What followed was surgery, radiation, fear, resilience, and eventually a calling to help others heal. Through her own fight, she discovered how deeply women need connection while facing breast cancer. That discovery led her to create Kindred Spirits, a support group built on community, comfort, and being seen.

Today, Kindred Spirits meets monthly at ACE Psychological Services. Women gather to laugh, cry, share stories, learn, encourage, and remind each other that they never have to face this alone.

If you or a loved one is struggling with a diagnosis, treatment, fear of recurrence, or the emotional weight that comes with breast cancer, reach out to Danielle. She understands the pain and the courage it takes to keep moving forward, and she has created a group where you are welcomed with open arms.

🌊 Healing Waters: Support Group for Parents of Estranged or Struggling Adult Children 🌊

If you’re a parent carrying the weight of estrangement, limited contact, or the heartbreak of watching an adult child struggle, you don’t have to walk this path alone.

Beginning Tuesday, January 6 at 3 PM, ACE Psychological Services is offering a six-week restorative support group led by a trauma-informed therapist. Just as water smooths rough edges over time, this group creates space for healing, clarity, and renewed hope.

Together, we’ll explore peace, healthy boundaries, and practical ways to navigate complex family dynamics with support and understanding.

This group is for parents of adult children who are
• Estranged or limiting contact
• Withholding connection to grandchildren
• Facing addiction or mental health challenges

No specific beliefs required — only a desire for compassion, understanding, and connection.

🦃🍁 Thanksgiving Week Reflection 🍁🦃

As we head into Thanksgiving week, this is a perfect time to slow down and remember the quiet power of gratitude.

Gratitude is not just a nice idea. It is one of the most effective tools in mental health. Research shows that practicing gratitude can strengthen relationships, reduce aches and pains, lift mood, improve sleep, increase empathy, boost self esteem, and build resilience during difficult seasons.

Even small moments matter. A few seconds noticing something good, someone kind, or a simple joy can start to shift your brain toward healing and hope.

This week, try pausing once a day to name something you are thankful for. Let that moment soften the stress of the holidays and bring a little more peace into your home and heart.

🌟 Community Impact Spotlight

We are proud of our very own Dr Amynda Rhodes for speaking at the Ohio Trucking Safety Council’s November Meeting, hosted by the Ohio Trucking Association.

Dr Rhodes provided an engaging training on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and its impact on the trucking industry; a profession where long hours, isolation, and irregular schedules can intensify winter-month challenges. She shared practical, real-world strategies to help drivers and safety leaders support mental and physical health, stay focused, and maintain productivity throughout the colder season.

Thank you to the Ohio Trucking Association for inviting ACE Psychological Services to be part of this important conversation.

🌟 Exciting Growth in Our Lancaster Community! 🌟

We’re thrilled to welcome Sydney Parrish, LPC, to the ACE Psychological Services Lancaster team! Sydney brings a grounded and compassionate approach to therapy, rooted in Gestalt principles that help clients slow down, notice what’s happening in the present, and discover deeper awareness and connection.

Her work focuses on trauma recovery, co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, and supporting individuals navigating life transitions or relationships impacted by recovery. Certified in HeartMath and trained in EMDR, Sydney integrates mind–body approaches that foster emotional balance, resilience, and lasting change.

Clients describe her as warm, curious, and collaborative—bringing both depth and practicality to every session.
