✨ Community Spotlight ✨

As you are aware, Max and Dylan have both had the honor of serving on the Heavener Fire Department. Max dedicated 25 years to the department, ultimately rising to the position of Chief before retiring in 2005. Dylan joined the department in 2001 and relocated in 2005, resulting in a temporary departure from the department. He rejoined in 2015 and currently serves as Assistant Chief. For them, as well as numerous others, it is an honor to contribute to the well-being of our community through volunteer service with the fire department.

For our community, this means having the assurance that someone will be present during emergency situations, such as fires, car accidents, major falls, or other health scares.

Today, our fire chief is Tim Davis. Tim and the remainder of the department are committed to ensuring our community's safety. Additionally, they engage in various charitable activities, including visiting schools, allowing students to ride in the trucks, utilize the hoses, and operate the sirens. They educate students on fire safety and demonstrate the appearance of firefighters in their gear, with the aim of alleviating potential fear in the event of a fire. During Halloween, they distribute candy downtown and permit children to explore their trucks and equipment. At Christmas time, they participate in the Heavener parade and collectively purchase gifts for a local family in need. On Christmas Eve, they es**rt Santa to deliver the gifts to the family.

All in all, Heavener is fortunate to have an exemplary department comprised of kind and compassionate individuals.

Today is National Funeral Director Day, a time to acknowledge the outstanding service of our community's two exceptional funeral directors, Max Roberts and Dylan Roberts, who have made a profound impact on our community. 💜

Max, licensed in 1977, began his full-time career in Heavener in July 1980. Dylan, who always aspired to follow in his father's footsteps, began assisting Max part-time in 1997 while attending high school and later pursued mortuary school, obtaining his license in 2005. He returned to Heavener in 2014 to work full-time alongside his father. Since then, they have been a cornerstone of our community, providing care and support to families during their most vulnerable moments.

Many people may not fully understand the dedication required of funeral directors, who are available 24/7, ready to respond to calls at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Max and Dylan demonstrate unwavering commitment to their profession, caring for families with the same love and compassion they would give to their own loved ones.

We extend our gratitude to Max and Dylan for your selfless service to our community, and for the kindness and compassion you consistently show to those in need. We appreciate the sacrifices you both have made to support others during the most challenging times of their lives. We are blessed to call you our hometown funeral directors.
