It breaks our hearts to have to post this, but we need to address some recent issues at our playground after operating hours.

Thayer Kids Academy operates as a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit. Every ball, toy, and piece of equipment we have is there because of a donation or a very, very careful budget from fundraising. Recently, we’ve had individuals entering or climbing our fences after hours, resulting in missing items that our students truly love and that we simply cannot afford to replace. Because this is Private Property, it is not a public park and is not open to the community during non-business hours. We will be posting signs ASAP.

Beyond the loss of property, there is a major liability risk. Without our staff on-site to supervise, the playground is not open to the public. We want to keep providing a wonderful environment for our students.

Please, please help us do that by respecting our boundaries and our property. We (and our cameras), know who you are and have kindly requested your understanding. We don’t want to have to involve law enforcement, but will do so to protect our students’ resources. ♥️

Over the past few weeks, our classrooms have been busy learning, creating, and celebrating together! 🫶🏻

🫂 We began February by exploring the theme of family—talking about what a family is, who is part of our families, and how families love and care for one another.

💕 The following week, we went all out for Valentine’s Day, making festive crafts, decorating Valentine bags, exchanging cards, and celebrating with a fun party and special treats!

🚒 During the week of the 16th, we learned about “important people” in our communities, including: nurses, doctors, EMTs, firefighters, service members, and even the everyday heroes in our lives—our parents!

❣️ This week, we are excited to explore Chinese New Year, learning about traditions, symbols, celebrations, and cultures from around the world. It has been a month full of meaningful learning, creativity, and lots of fun! 🎉
