Even snow and cold couldn’t stop this important message 💜

Today, Shodair Children’s Hospital planted pinwheels across campus in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Despite winter weather hanging on a little longer, our team showed up—bundled up—to stand for something bigger. And we had support from the The Exchange Club of Helena Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana Children's Montana Children's Trust Fund, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office, and our neighbors from Hunter's Pointe!

Even our mascots, Hope and Thunder, made an appearance!

Each pinwheel represents a child, a voice, and a reminder that every child deserves a safe, supportive environment to grow and thrive.

At Shodair, this work is at the heart of what we do every day—helping children heal, supporting families, and inspiring hope across Montana.

The weather may have been cold, but the purpose behind each pinwheel was powerful.

🏀 March Madness at Shodair 🏀

Last night, our hospital gym was filled with energy, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun as residential therapist Leigh Fahlquist organized a 3-on-3 March Madness basketball tournament for staff and patients.

Below is a photo of the adult staff members that participated.

Six teams—each made up of two staff members and one patient—hit the court for an evening centered on connection, encouragement, and friendly competition.

Even CEO Craig Aasved joined in on the action! A former guard who played through high school and college, Craig shared how much sports have shaped his life.

“Basketball taught me leadership, teamwork, and what it means to feel supported and successful,” he said, crediting his Lewistown High School coach as a lifelong mentor.

More than anything, Craig hopes the experience helped patients feel part of a team—and simply have fun.

A big thank you to Leigh for organizing such a meaningful event. We’re already looking forward to making this an annual tradition! 💚

🏒 What a night at the Helena Bighorns game on Saturday! Shodair was proud to sponsor the Bighorns’ final regular season game and what a game it was. They came back from a 1-5 deficit to win 6-5!

This event gave our team and their families a chance to connect and have fun together off campus. Our staff cheered loudly, enjoyed the night, and even got to see Hope and Thunder greet fans and play on the ice.

The Bighorns regularly volunteer with our residential kids, and we were thrilled to support them and celebrate this incredible season. Thank you to the Bighorns for all you do and for making the night unforgettable! 💙💛
