🍼 Important Notice for Parents & Caregivers
At Helena Pediatric Clinic, your child’s safety is our top priority. We want to inform you about a recent recall involving infant formula:
What happened:
• ByHeart Inc. has voluntarily recalled two lot numbers of its “Whole Nutrition Infant Formula” due to concerns about possible contamination and a link to infant botulism cases.
• The recall applies to lot numbers 206VABP/251261P2 and 206VABP/251131P2, both with “Use by 01 Dec 2026”.
• At least 13 infants, aged 2 weeks to 5 months, hospitalized across 10 states have consumed formula from these lots; no deaths reported so far.
• The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) investigations are ongoing; to date, no direct causal link has been definitively proven.
What you should do:
• If you have purchased ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula, check the bottom of the container for the above lot numbers.
• Do not continue using product from the recalled lots. Either return it to the point of purchase, or dispose of it safely.
• Clean and sanitize any feeding equipment or surfaces that might have come in contact with the recalled formula (use hot soapy water or dishwasher).
• If your baby consumed the formula from the recalled lot and is showing any of the following symptoms, contact us or their pediatric provider immediately:
• Poor feeding or difficulty feeding
• Weak muscle tone or inability to hold up head
• Difficulty swallowing or breathing changes
• Decreased facial expression, weak cry
These may not appear immediately—botulism symptoms can take days to weeks.
Why we’re sharing this:
Even though the affected product is a small portion of the market, and the recall is precautionary, we believe in keeping you fully informed so you can protect your little one. We are available for support and to answer any questions you may have.
