Montana Primary Care Association (MPCA) represents Montana's Community Health Centers, including rural clinics, Federally Qualified Health Center "Look-alikes" and the Migrant Health Center. MPCA is the statewide team working to support and advocate for CHC Patient-Centered Health Homes, in ensuring that all Montanan's have equal access to excellent, patient-centered primary health care, including medical, dental, behavioral health and other supportive services. Montana's 18 health center organizations provide comprehensive, quality primary health care services for all, and especially in service to all of us who now, or at one time or another have been uninsured, underinsured, struggled to afford access to high quality health care.

MPCA's Board voted in October to oppose LR-131. Physicians and families continue to share their stories about challenging and devastating situations that would be made far worse by LR-131. Criminalizing doctors for providing compassionate care to grieving families is never the right answer for Montana.

LR-131 criminalizes doctors who provide appropriate, compassionate care to families with infants born with non-life sustaining birth defects or born too early to survive.

Our Story

America’s Health Centers owe their existence to a remarkable turn of events in U.S. history, and to a number of determined community health and civil rights activists who fought more than 50 years ago to improve the lives of Americans living in deep poverty and in desperate need of health care. MPCA is proud to support Montana’s community health centers!
