Forrest “Stan” Sharkey was hopping freight trains out of Indianapolis and living under a bridge in Bismarck. By 15, he was working nights as a hotel elevator operator for just $1 a day. He still chuckles as he recalls the characters he met and the stories that came with the job—just a glimpse into the many colorful memories he shares with his trademark humor.

From those bold beginnings to serving on the front lines of WWII, Stan’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. At 99, he continues to captivate everyone with the way he tells it.

Every year, we take one day to spend thanking our local first responders! Yesterday was that day and boy was it fun to give back to those who always do so much for us and our families. Not pictured were the many hugs exchanged, laughter, and "yumm, yum"s.

This amazing Walmart employee showed great compassion and customer service today, as well as an understanding of how difficult it can be for someone struggling with dementia to make it to appointments. She happily and promptly fixed our resident's glasses for free and said to come back anytime for more help. Thank you, Anna!

This week we took a little road trip to Bozeman to visit the Museum of the Rockies and enjoy Italian delicacy at none other than Olive Garden!

No one got eaten by the dinosaurs and there may or may not have been a group sing-a-long to Rick Aster on the bus ride home!
