Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common hormonal conditions affecting women of reproductive age, but getting a diagnosis can feel like a long, frustrating road.

There is no single test that confirms it, which is part of why so many women go years without answers.

If you have been bouncing between providers trying to figure out what is going on with your body, you are not alone, and you deserve a clear path forward.

Think you know how PCOS is diagnosed? Guess first, then check below.

The answer is C. Providers use the Rotterdam criteria, which require at least two of the following three: irregular or absent ovulation, elevated androgen levels found on blood tests or through symptoms like acne or excess hair, and polycystic ovaries seen on ultrasound.

Additional lab work may be ordered to rule out other conditions with similar symptoms, such as thyroid disorders.

If you suspect PCOS, your provider can walk you through a thorough evaluation.

There is a question most expecting mothers never think to ask: what if my pregnancy looks perfectly healthy, but my baby is still at risk of coming too early? It is more common than you might think.

Up to half of women who deliver early have no known risk factors, and 1 in 10 babies in the United States are born too soon.

Standard prenatal care was not built to catch that kind of hidden risk. The PreTRM Test was.

It is a single blood draw between weeks 18 and 20 that measures proteins in your blood to find your personal risk of delivering early.

Your provider compares your score to the general average, giving your care team a real number to plan around instead of just hoping everything goes well.

And when providers have that data, the results are powerful:

Screened patients saw 20% fewer newborn health complications and 20% fewer NICU admissions.

Babies were 56% less likely to be born before 32 weeks and 32% less likely to arrive before 35 weeks.

Almost a full NICU day was saved for every 4 patients screened. That is the difference between reacting to a crisis and preventing one.

Most women carrying a single baby who are 18 or older and not showing signs of preterm labor are candidates.

If you are between 18 and 20 weeks, call Complete Care ObGYN at (702) 213-5601 or visit completecareobgyn.com to learn more and schedule your appointment today.

If you are pregnant after 35, you have probably heard a lot of opinions about what your delivery has to look like.

One of the most persistent myths is that women over 35 will need a C-section.

The truth is more nuanced than that, and your actual health matters far more than a number on your chart. Here is what the data shows, so you can walk into your next appointment with facts, not fear.

Test yourself before you scroll!

The answer is 3. Women over 35 can absolutely have vaginal deliveries.

The need for a cesarean depends on many individual factors, not just age.

While pregnancy after 35 does come with slightly increased monitoring for things like gestational diabetes and high blood pressure, most women in their late 30s and even 40s have smooth, healthy pregnancies with the right care.

Your provider should be focused on you as an individual, not a label.

Managing menopause symptoms is not a one-size-fits-all situation, and you deserve to understand all of your options.

Hormone therapy replaces the hormones your body is no longer producing and can be highly effective for severe hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and sleep disruption.

Lifestyle strategies like a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management, and keeping your environment cool can also make a meaningful difference, either on their own or alongside medical treatment.

The best approach depends on your symptoms, your health history, and your goals, and that is a conversation worth having with your provider. Schedule your appointment today with Complete Care ObGyn!
