There’s something so powerful about giving the body time, space, and intention to truly receive.
The other day I had a client come in with deep fatigue in the legs and feet from long work days, along with tension in the lower back. Instead of jumping straight into hands-on work in those areas, I began with red light therapy on the legs and feet while I worked the upper body.
Red light therapy is a beautiful way to prepare the body before touch even begins. It helps increase circulation, supports cellular repair, reduces inflammation, and gently warms the tissues from the inside out. By the time I move into massage or Reiki on those areas, the muscles are already more open, relaxed, and ready to receive deeper healing without force.
As I worked through the arms, shoulders, neck, and back, the red light was already doing its magic below—softening, soothing, and restoring.
Then we transitioned into hands-on work for the lower body… layering in hot towels to melt tension even further and, of course, my favorite magnesium spray to support muscle recovery, ease soreness, and calm the nervous system.
This was a 90-minute session… and honestly, some bodies ask for 2 hours with this level of care and detail. There’s just so much the body wants to release when it finally feels safe.
And one of my favorite parts…
So many of my clients feel so comfortable, so held, that they drift off to sleep while I’m working. That deep rest is healing in itself.
This is more than a session… it’s a full-body reset.
