Yesterday, our Maria Parham Health team proudly joined hundreds of community volunteers to support Rise Against Hunger, coming together for a powerful day of service and compassion.
Between the morning and afternoon shifts, an incredible 70,000 meals were packed—meals that will help nourish individuals and families facing hunger around the world.
Rise Against Hunger is a global nonprofit organization committed to ending hunger by mobilizing communities, growing sustainable solutions, and responding to emergencies. Their mission is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to nutritious food and the opportunity to thrive.
A huge thank you and kudos to every team member and volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart to this effort. Your teamwork truly made a difference—and Maria Parham Health is proud to stand with you in the fight against hunger!

Yesterday evening, Maria Parham hosted our annual Service Awards Dinner at the Henderson Country Club. We recognized over 100 of our dedicated employees who have been with us for 5 years, all the way through over 45 years. That’s over 1,255 years of service combined amongst the group last night!

Maria Parham has been serving our community for over 100 years now, and some of the individuals that we celebrated have worked almost half of that. Their work goes far beyond the walls of the hospital and continues to touch the community, showing a deep sense of care for our patients, their families, and one another.

To our team, thank you for continuing to choose this work, giving your time, talent and heart. Thank you to the Henderson Country Club for the delicious dinner, Michael’s Florist for the gorgeous flowers, Morgan Barnes from our HR team for organizing the event, our board members who were in attendance, and to everyone else who helped make last night a success!

Yesterday at Maria Parham Health, we had the privilege of hosting Youth Leadership Vance—a group of some of the brightest leaders from high schools across our area.
The students enjoyed lunch and had the opportunity to hear from hospital leaders, including Chief Executive Officer Bert Beard, and gained an inside look at the important work of our Imaging Department from Director of Imaging and Wound, Travis Thompson.
We are inspired by their curiosity, engagement, and leadership potential, and we’re excited to see the impact these future leaders will have on the Henderson/Vance County community—especially in the field of healthcare!
