Apples are a high fiber, low calorie snack that is convenient to carry with you. You get the most benefits when you eat them raw and unpeeled.

Walking is a great way to add movement to your day and form those healthy habits we all need. How can you add steps to your day?

--Walk after meals. You not only get some steps in but walking after eating can improve digestion, help manage blood sugar levels, reduce the risk of heart disease, regulate blood pressure, and promote weight loss!

-Walk and talk! If you have a long call to make or a friend to catch up with, hit one of our local greenways or just walk around your neighborhood.

-Find ways to walk at work. Maybe walk during your lunch break or use a bathroom farther away from your desk. Skip the elevator and take the stairs.

-Chores add up. Mowing the lawn, gardening, mopping the floor, and vacuuming can be great forms of cardio. You’ll also end up with a clean home!

-Park farther away from the door. Deliberately choose a parking space that requires more walking.

-Find a walking buddy or group. Ask friends to join you for a nice outing.

-If the weather is bad, turn on an audiobook or your favorite tunes and make laps inside your house.

We want to take a moment to shine the spotlight on Tashia who creates such a welcoming environment for our patients as she greets them upon arrival at our office. She has been a part of Thrive DPC for several months now and brings warmth and compassion to every patient interaction. She holds many roles here at the office: medical assistant, phlebotomist, and receptionist. She keeps our office running smoothly, and she loves caring for patients and providing a listening ear.
Outside of work, Tashia enjoys spending time with her family, being a proud mom, going to church, reading, and relaxing by the lake. She also appreciates quiet moments at home to rest and recharge. Always eager to grow in her field, Tashia is committed to learning and improving every day to better serve her patients.

Heartburn is not really coming from your heart. It is caused by acid reflux (stomach acid rising into your esophagus which is the tube that connects your throat to your stomach). If you have occasional heartburn, you might be able to manage it with small adjustments to diet or routine. However, if you are experiencing frequent heartburn, you may need medical care as it might be a sign of other problems that need treatment.

When you wake up in the morning with pain in your ear and hearing odd noises others can't hear... Check in with Dr. Cozart. He's just a text or call away.

Earwax can get stuck in the ear canal and cause problems.
The good news is that Dr. Cozart can perform an ear flush and have you back to normal in no time.

The better news? It is included in membership. In a traditional practice/urgent care, you could receive a bill for $75 or higher for this procedure.
