As of today, Dec. 30, 2025, UNC Health Pardee will implement visitor restrictions in all inpatient areas at our main hospital campus in response to increased flu-like illness across the region. These restrictions are in place for the safety of our patients, teammates, and community:

🔹 Limit of two (2) visitors per patient

🔹 Visitors must be 11 years or older

🔹 Individuals should avoid visiting the hospital if they have respiratory symptoms or any of the following: headache, muscle aches, cough, fever, sore throat, and/or a runny or stuffy nose.

Masks remain optional for visitors, though they are strongly encouraged during this time.

Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms should visit an urgent care location. Seek care at the emergency department or hospital only when symptoms are severe or life-threatening.

Paula’s positivity drives her, saying “I love to make people happy – whether it’s patients, staff, family, or friends. I know my purpose in this world is to do what I can do to improve any situation.”

She has spent the last 26 years of her career at Pardee because “I wanted to be a part of the hospital that always cared for those around me. I have had many moments in my Pardee journey, but I can truly say, in the times I needed support for myself or my family... the support and love I needed to make it through was there.”
