Some people are born with a drive often seen in entrepreneurs, pro-athletes, inventors, adventurers, and Navy SEALs. It's in their DNA - research has shown that certain genes can manifest resilient and highly focused people who can also be impulsive and easily distracted. But why are these individuals different than others and how did they get to be that way? Nearly 10 percent of the population possesses a genetic difference that, with the right environmental conditions, manifests in a powerful, unstoppable drive. This drive is the difference between dreaming and doing. The Driven, those who possess this genetic variation, differ on many neurobiological attributes. If you are Driven, you are different from most of the people in your life. The Driven can do what others cannot. They can juggle twenty different variables in our heads at a time; they notice things other people miss; they have the resilience to withstand challenges that others give up on. They crave adventure and risk. They want something new, something more, something better. While this can manifest itself into a lot of good outcomes, such as being very successful, it can also lead to self-sabotage, shame, boredom, lack of focus and other destructive behaviors.
