We received a 1-star review. Let’s talk about it.
Yes, we recently received a one-star Google review, and while we take immense pride in our client experience and results, this moment is worth addressing openly.
The client felt her acne should have cleared within weeks after a single visit. The truth? Acne doesn’t work that way — and neither does real skin transformation. Did you know it takes up to 21 days from when acne surfaces to the skin? Why is this important? Because it doesn’t appear overnight and it doesn’t go away overnight either!
We are one part of the solution, not the entire solution.
Acne requires time, consistency, sometimes medication, and a plan. How do we fit into this process?
We offer the following:
👉🏼 Customized, clinical treatments performed monthly
👉🏽 A custom home-care routine selected for your skin type and condition
👉🏾 Ongoing guidance, education, and adjustments along the way
👉🏿 Dermatology guidance and prescription oversight with our dedicated dermatology based NP
And yes, acne often gets worse before it gets better. We communicate this during acne consultations because cellular turnover, purging, and healing take time.
In this case, the client came in for a first-time facial. Our facials are clinical by design, meaning they address what’s happening beneath the surface. Without returning 30 days later for continued support, customized follow-up treatments, and proper home care, results simply cannot unfold the way they’re intended to. While she came in for a relaxing facial for an event, it ended up causing her skin to purge for weeks afterward, along with hyperpigmentation from her breakouts. Leaving her discouraged with how her skin looks. We have a wonderful management team that addressed the situation. What we all must remember is that good skin takes time. Better skin is built over time.
We’re grateful our team showed up with care and integrity, and we’re thankful for the reminder that education and expectation-setting matter for both the provider and the client. Better skin doesn’t come from quick fixes; it comes from commitment, collaboration, and trust from both the provider and the client.
