The amazing volunteers at the pantry were ready today because of the many partners and community members who helped us prepare for today’s service. Tonight we fed 93 (17 new) families representing 387 individuals! Our needs are great: cereal, canned chicken and tuna, 1 lb bags of rice, canned pasta meals and boxes of mashed potatoes.

We’ve been receiving questions about how to make a monetary donation. Follow the link on the food pantry page and choose “food pantry” in the drop down box. Thank you for your continued support. Together we can serve those in need.

We are thrilled to have the support of our community. We accept shelf stable donations 24 hours a day in a drop off bin at the end of the handicapped ramp.

Thank you to everyone that dropped off donations today.

While this shelf may look like it has a lot of cereal on it that is approximately 80 boxes. On Monday we will be preparing 130 bags. So this shelf does not even contain enough cereal for one week.

In addition to cereal, here are our current needs:

Boxed pasta and spaghetti
Tomato soup
Ramen
Mashed potatoes
Shelf stable/evaporated milk

To participate in Kroger community rewards program visit http://www.kroger.com. Once logged into your Kroger account search for Welborne Community Food Pantry either by name or QW07 and then click enroll. New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and a rewards card.

Tonight the food pantry served 91 families representing 365 individuals. 26 of these families were new to our Pantry. The need is growing, so we are grateful for your contributions. Here are our most current needs:

Boxed pasta or spaghetti
Ramen
Saltines
Snacks: granola bars, peanut butter, cracker packs, fruit and grain bars

It was a chaotic morning so we did not get pictures, but we were blessed by the volume of donations received today. We would especially like to thank the Barrington and Wellesley neighborhoods as well as a couple that shopped and drove all the way from Ashland to deliver.
