This simple holiday posture tip is a total lifesaver for your back!

If you usually wrap gifts hunched over on the floor for hours, do your body a favor and try these easy tweaks this year:
🎁
Move your wrapping station up to a table or counter so you can stay more upright, and if you’re hiding in your bedroom to keep gifts secret, stand next to the bed instead of sitting on it.
🎁
Build in mini movement breaks. After every couple of gifts, walk them over to the tree instead of carrying a giant stack at the end; those short walks help you change positions more often so you’re not stuck bent forward and setting yourself up for back pain.

If wrapping starts to feel stressful, pause. Take a few deep breaths, or turn it into a mini mindfulness moment by focusing on the symmetry of the paper, the folds, and the corners—who knows, you might even nail that perfectly wrapped present while your nervous system gets a reset.

This simple holiday posture tip is a lifesaver!

If you usually wrap gifts sitting hunched over with your hips flexed for hours and hours, do your body a solid and remember these pointers while wrapping gifts this week:

Move your wrapping UP! Get off the floor and use a table or counter to help you stay more upright. Even if you have to hide from prying eyes in your bedroom to wrap, stand next to the bed rather than sit on it.

Take frequent breaks. After wrapping 1-2 gifts, walk them to the tree. This helps you avoid carrying a mountain of gifts all at once, but it also helps you change positions more frequently! So even if you have been bent forward, you won’t be staying in that position for long. This is so important to avoid back pain and posture issues!

If it starts feeling stressful, take a break! Or try reframing and meditating a bit about the symmetry of the paper and the folds to distract from all the holiday obligations. Maybe you’ll get that perfect wrap!
