It hardly feels like its been over 10 years since I started teaching Pilates! I'm not one for trends but as Pilates grow in popularity, I am glad to say I've been a part of this modality. What a ride it continues to be in transforming the lives of so many people I meet. If you haven't joined me for a Pilates session yet, what are you doing? :)

Someone may start racing again.....maybe. 🙂 Want to start training with me?. Memories like this pop up on my computer and it always reminds me of my tenacity to win. No matter what it is, you will find this Jamaican born and Brooklyn bred working hard to get to #1. No cheating, no hustling, no backbiting. Pure hard work, talent, faith and the grace of GOD.
I wish I could say more about my achievements as they are happening. For now, take this as your que to chase after your dreams and work hard when no one is looking. You will undoubtedly achieve them. If you don't believe me, ask anyone that I have coached.

The finance nerd in me sees the effect this will have on the financial books of Tiffany, Zales, Jared, and other jewelry stores/designers. Taylor Swift's ability to influence a large group of people is to be attributed to this. The average person will not be able to get the exact old mine cut engagement ring but they will find a way to experience something close.

Let's not forget the photoshoot. Floral sales will go up as well to create this enchanted floral garden. And the photographer who will be needed to capture the engagement. Speaking of.....let me start marketing my photography biz although I do design gorgeous floral arrangements too.

2026 wedding season will be interesting to see.

IN MY QUIETNESS

I did my first bowling tournament as an adult!! I say as an adult because I started bowling at 14 years old and became the team captain from sophomore until senior year in high school. I was averaging above many on the opposing teams but my leadership ability was far greater. Our team ended up going to the high school regionals and if my memory serves me right we came in second place. It’s documented in my school’s yearbook!!

Fast forward to the past few months, I have been quietly bowling and taking it to the next level. I’ve been working on relearning the basics and tricks I used back in my youth. But, I’m also unlearning and learning new things with the changes in this sport and new equipment. Things have definitely been revolutionized while I have been away from bowling.

Here are some of the CHANGES I’ve made recently:

- I'm working closely with a professional to drill my balls correctly
- Sought coaching to work on my swing and timing
- I’ve moved from conventional grips to fingertip grips
- I naturally throw a straight ball but can now hook it too!
- Increased from 10 pound to 14 pound bowling balls
- Changed all aspects of my approach on the lanes (this will get boring explaining so I’ll spare you)
- Developed a careless attitude towards outside criticism of my style of bowling
- Keeping emotions in check even when the pins want to fight back and not fall down. LOL!
- I’ve been working on my weakness more than my strengths
- Lifting heavier weights to build strength and muscles in my arms for a better swing
- Using my pilates techniques to help with balance and leg strength
- I practice and... I practice and... I practice every chance I get

This process has been rewarding and I have learned so much about myself. There have been bouts of terrible moments but I am still here fighting weaknesses, the gutter and all ten pins.

It's my vegan/ital vegan/plant based Anniversary month! 🎉

When I first fully committed to eating strictly plant based over 13 years ago, I had no idea it would lead me to teach this lifestyle to others. Yes, I had casual conversations about what my protein substitutes were but it lead me to form my wellness business Becoming You Lifestyle Management which then opened up doors to speak and cook on stages in front of people I didn't know at first.

I've seen the conversations around "veganism" and "plant based" change but the goal here for me is to stick to the core foundations. This is not a diet but a lifestyle. So as more foods and techniques are brought to the market, I will lean to the foods that fuel my body, mind and soul.

And lets continue to keep vegan food distributors, restaurant owners, and educators excited, motivated and appreciated with your continued support. 🌻
