C2Adopt is passionate about educating the public about kinship, foster care and adoption! Part of that education extends every year to the General Assembly where we help inform legislators about the impact of proposed bills on kinship, foster and adoptive families and the youth that live in them. We are so grateful for collaborative agency partners like Children's Home Society of VA that organize a special day for like minded professionals and agencies to make their voices heard in downtown Richmond!

Being loved is great, but being LIKED is something important too. Your kids deserve to know the ways they are seen and liked by you. Today we challenge you to write a love letter to your kids and tell them some things you LIKE about them. Or a friend or partner/spouse! Being truly seen in this world is magical. And at C2Adopt - for all the parents out there - we LIKE you! We see the ways that you are open and vulnerable for your kids. We notice the times that you do that extra something in the day to make things easier for your kiddo. We are aware of the fierce tenacity you show as an advocate for your kids all day every day. And the ways you do those things are special and wholly unique to you as a person - we notice that too! We are here for support or a reminder that we LIKE you - don't hesitate to reach out!

We are so excited to share that Executive Director, Rebecca Ricardo, has teamed up with Richmond Public Library for "Adoption, Genealogy & Family History". It's open to any member of the public who is interested - regardless of any prior adoption experience or connection. No registration required! Attend either March 4th at 10a or March 25th at 6p based on what works best for your schedule! Share with others and we hope to see you there!

Parenting reminder: Our kids remember us for who we ARE, not what we say or try to teach. Being WITH is the most important thing you can do as a parent. It's hard work and it's hard to keep going when you feel alone. We have monthly parent support groups alternating between Virtual and In-Person to help hold you up when the days feel long.
