Rev. Thomas Wainwright

Rev. Thomas Albert Wainwright Jr. was born on May 27, 1942, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, to Thomas Wainwright Sr. and Sylvia Latta. On December 11, 2025, Tom passed from this life and moved on to his next great adventure, finishing his race while holding the hand of his beloved bride and surrounded by those he cherished most.

From a young age, Tom seemed destined for greatness. Though his early childhood was not what many would consider ideal, those experiences helped shape him into the man he was meant to be: a faithful Christian, a devoted husband, and an exceptionally loving father.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War for three years. He married Wilma Mae Baxter, and together they raised a beautiful family. They were blessed with three children: Teresa, Sonia, and Chris and later added a fourth son, John. In early 1989, Wilma passed away suddenly, a loss that deeply marked Tom's life.

In the summer of 1990, Tom married Judy Kay Allen. For the next 35 years, Tom and Judy built a life together, rooted in their precious faith, partnership, and unwavering devotion. From their passion for ministry to working the family business, through both good times and challenging seasons, they accomplished so much side by side. Above all else, they shared a deep and abiding love for their family: three children, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

A man of remarkable curiosity and determination, Tom seemingly accomplished anything he set his mind to. His life's journey included many callings and talents: Pastor, Evangelist, Children's Evangelist, Bible Teacher, Truck Driver, Storyteller, Magician, Pilot, Painter, Poet, Paramedic, and Private Investigator, each role reflecting his creativity, compassion, and adventurous spirit. He lived by his motto that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. He did more than say it, he lived it: "I am a Wainwright, and a Wainwright can do anything."

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judy, of the home; his daughter Teresa Grindle and husband John of Alto, Texas; daughter Sonia Howell of Alto, Texas; son Chris Wainwright and wife Khrisha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson Darren Wainwright and wife Natasha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson Jordan Grindle and wife Laura of Douglass, Texas; granddaughter Andrea Long and husband Clint of Pasadena, Texas; granddaughter Sydney Everage and husband Zachary of Palestine, Texas; granddaughter Cheyanne Houston and husband Andrew of Ada, Oklahoma; granddaughter Jacy Howell of Alto, Texas; grandson Aaron Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; granddaughter Andrea Loa and husband Juan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; granddaughter Nattally Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister, Brenda Johnston of Tyler, Texas; and a host of other family members and many dear friends.

Thank you for joining us today in celebrating the life of a man who lived fully, loved deeply, held no regrets, and saw the magic, wonder, and splendor in every single day he was given.

Viewing will be on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Integrity Funeral Service from 6-8 PM.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jordan Grindle, and Rev. Darren Wainwright, officiating.

Interment will be at the Duncan Cemetery in Good Springs, Texas, on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Clint Long, officiating.
