Good morning friends. Hopefully everyone is well and staying home. I just wanted to touch base. We are following the guidance of the American Dental Association and have scaled back to only providing urgent or emergency care. These guidelines are currently in place through April 30. Our office is closed, however, if you have a dental emergency, call our office and there is an emergency # on our voice recording. Call this number and I will return your call ASAP and we can decide how to proceed. At this time, we plan to reopen May 1st.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are continuing to monitor the situation and are trying to stay up to date with CDC and ADA recommendations.

As of today, March 23, we are moving to emergency/urgent treatment only. The following types of conditions will continue to be treated: dental trauma, swelling, dental pain, dry sockets, dental abcess or localized infection, tooth fractures, dental treatment required prior to critical medical procedures, final crown/bridge cementation, extensive decay or defective restorations, denture adjustments or repairs, and endodontic (root canal) procedures.

We ask that only the patient enters our facility. If the patient is a child, one adult may accompany them into the operatory.

We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time. If you have any concerns or questions, please call our office at (918) 652-2555.

In an effort to support national efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Henryetta Dental Center has taken the following steps to help assure the health of our patient families, staff, and community. Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, we will see patients for emergency dental care only. Your health and the health of our staff is of the upmost importance, so going forward we will cancel all routine hygiene appointments. Our office will remain open for normal business hours. Following local and state public health recommendations, we do plan to open to normal business hours beginning April 6, 2020.

With so many news stories, it’s understandable to be concerned about the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Please know that the precautions Dr. Johnson and his staff already take every day to prevent the spread of infection in our practice also helps prevent the spread of COVID-19.

If you are ill with flu-like symptoms, you should reschedule your appointment.

If you or someone you are in close contact with have recently traveled to one of the countries with large outbreaks of COVID-19 (China, Italy, Iran, South Korea) or if you have been exposed to someone else who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or who was quarantined as a precaution, wait 14 days until you see your dentist to make sure you have not caught the coronavirus.

If you are healthy, there’s no need to cancel your regularly scheduled dental appointment.

It’s important to know that the majority of people infected with the coronavirus experience flu-like symptoms and then recover. Most people do not develop serious respiratory complications.

Those most at risk of becoming seriously ill are elderly people and those with underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease, among others. Children, thus far, have been largely unaffected.

Here are a few things you can do on your own to help keep yourself and those around you healthy:

Wash your hands frequently, or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent ethyl alcohol.
Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose to reduce the spread of germs.
Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow. Infections like the coronavirus spread through the tiny droplets in coughs and sneezes.
Stay home if you feel sick. If you have flu-like symptoms or otherwise feel unwell, stay home and rest. Call our office to reschedule your appointment for a later date. This will reduce the risk of spreading your illness.
