Hermann Area District Hospital is a 24 bed Critical Access Hospital located in the beautiful town of Hermann, Missouri at 509 W. 18th Street, just over the hill from Stone Hill Winery. We are honored to have been the first district hospital in the state of Missouri due to the effo

rts of a small group of people in the 1960s who felt the strong need to have a hospital in our rural community. Because of their efforts, we are here today and are fortunate to have saved and aided countless lives throughout the years. We are happy and honored to have served our community’s healthcare needs these past 50 years and look forward to another 50. We may be 50 years old, however our building has had a total renovation within the last decade, allowing us to offer a state-of-the-art building to our patients and families. We invite you to visit and are welcome to come by for a tour. Let us know ahead of time and we’ll be sure to have someone available to show you around. Hermann Hospital offers a variety of services for our patients, such as 24/7 Emergency Care, Surgery Services, Skilled Care, Rehab Therapy including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, and Sleep Studies. We have a full Clinical Laboratory onsite, as well as a Radiology/Imaging, including 3D Mammography, Respiratory Care, and more. There are several Outpatient Clinics available to our patients as well, located onsite at Hermann Hospital: Audiology, Cardiology, and Orthopedic. Our hospital has grown through the years, resulting in the ownership and operations of two health clinics, which are located in Hermann (Southwest Medical Associates) and Montgomery City (Associated Medical Arts). We have experienced and caring Providers who are available to address your needs. Also to note, Hermann Area District Hospital is the largest employer in the city of Hermann, offering over 200 positions and opportunities for those in our community, and surrounding communities. With our ability to employ so many, we in turn are able to not only help the health of our community members, but also the financial health of our community’s economy. Our staff, the People Who Care, are here to provide quality and personalized care to our patients. As a patient, you are not a number without a name, but a name and a person to our staff. Congratulations to our GREAT CATCH winners!!

Teresa Schwartz, "Teresa was helping Pharmacy with inventory and caught that an extended release medication was being sorted with the regular strength medication. Due to her finding, the medication was moved into the correct bin for correct dispensing."

Trisha Hart, "Trisha (PCT) recognized signs and symptoms of hypercapnic respiratory failure and notified the Respiratory Therapist (RT) on duty that the patient urgently needed to be seen. RT immediately went to see the patient and found her to be very hard to rouse with low oxygen saturations (80%). Blood gases were drawn and were very critical. The patient was immediately placed on Bipap, requiring high levels of respiratory support and was shipped to another facility to receive a higher level of care. Because of Trisha’s knowledge, compassion and quick action, a much worse situation, which was rapidly developing, was avoided which mosly likely would have resulted in emergent intubation, resusitation, or potentially death."

Jessica Haug, PA-C, "Jessica caught an error in the Findings of an Image report (Radiology). Jessica called the Radiologist and spoke with him in regards to his mistake. With further investigation, the Radiologist made the addendum to his report. This was all conducted within 30 minutes and the patient was able to get their appropriate plan of care!"

Last Friday, we gathered donations and wore our Bearcat Blue in honor of the Elbert Family.

In moments of tragedy, a community feels the weight together.

There is grief, confusion, and a deep sense of loss—but there is also something powerful that emerges: unity.

While we cannot undo what has happened, we can choose how we respond. We can listen, show compassion, and stand together with one another with strength and care.

Hermann Hospital offers a variety of services for our patients, such as Emergency Care, Surgery Services, Skilled Care, Rehab Therapy, Sleep Studies, and a Home Health agency that reaches throughout our hospital district. We have a full Clinical Laboratory onsite, as well as a Radiology/Imaging, Respiratory Care, and more. There are several Outpatient Clinics available to our patients as well, located onsite at Hermann Hospital: Audiology, Cardiology, Oncology, Orthopedic, Podiatry, Pulmonary, and Urology. Our hospital has grown through the years, resulting in the ownership and operations of four health clinics, two of which are located in Hermann, and two others in our neighboring communities, Owensville and Montgomery City. We have experienced and caring medical providers who are available to address your needs.
