Support Sweet Potato’s Closet and help local families in need!

This organization does amazing things for our community 💛
Let’s rally behind Sweet Potato’s Closet!

Operation Save SPC!
There are TONS of ways your business can support Sweet Potato's Closet so we can keep helping our local community!
-Set up a monthly donation at https://givebutter.com/SweetPotatosCloset
-Make a one time donation at that same link, or mail check. (Or I can come get it, or you can drop it off!)
-Donate a portion of sales (Heidi's recently did this for us, and raised $800 in ONE day! They did $1 per drink sold) (I messed up here!! The first time I posted, I posted the incorrect amount raised, and I am SO sorry. Heidi's raised more than I had posted! They're so incredible!)
-Host an event.. How about a co****le tournament?? We'd love to do this one.
-Donate items for a raffle or auction

Don't forget, we are tax deductible and send out letters every January!
Drop some more ideas in the comments, or tag a business who wants to get involved, but maybe isn't sure how!

We're gonna do some yappin about the who, what, where, when, why, and how of Sweet Potato's Closet!
First up is the WHO?
Who does Sweet Potato's help?
Most of us know that we serve foster families. Foster families were why the Closet was started, and for awhile, they were all we served.
But now, present day, we serve WAY more people.

Anyone with a worker is eligible to come in and shop at Sweet Potato's Closet, depending on their case plan.
Who is a worker? Super question. Anyone who works with our partners, including but not limited to- Oregon DHS (child welfare OR self sufficiency), CPS (To prevent kids from coming into care), Umatilla County CARE, Umatilla Morrow Head Start, Community Counseling Solutions, Clarvida, Powerhouse, COPES, Good Shepherd Connextions, Capeco, and a few others! We also invite school staff to come in and get things for students if they need them.

If none of these apply to someone, and they need clothing, we have a clothing request form on our website that allows ANYONE to get a box of clothes, with very few questions asked.

In 2025, our most frequent community partners were Umatilla Morrow Head Start, Umatilla County CARE, Oregon Department of Human Services, and Good Shepherd Connextions. We are proud to partner with these excellent organizations to create long term change!

In 2025, we served a little over 3,300 people, not counting our holiday drive!

You probably know someone that counted on or counts on Sweet Potato's Closet.

The first trimester can bring a mix of physical and emotional changes and sometimes it’s hard to know what’s normal.

✨ Symptoms like nausea, breast tenderness, mood changes, fatigue, cramping, or light spotting are common as your body adjusts to big hormonal shifts and supports early pregnancy.

🤍 While many of these symptoms are typical, your experience is unique. Trust your instincts, listen to your body, and remember, it’s always okay to ask questions or seek reassurance.

You don’t have to navigate this season alone. Support, education, and care are here for you every step of the way.

Just found out you’re pregnant?
Here’s something important we want you to hear:

You don’t have to have everything figured out today.

It’s okay to feel excited.
It’s okay to feel scared.
It’s okay to feel both at the same time.

All feelings are valid.

January is about new beginnings—not pressure. At TruCare, we’re here to help you take the next step, whatever that looks like for you.

You don’t have to do this alone 🤍

💕 If you’re comfortable sharing, what were some of the emotions you felt when you first found out you were pregnant?
