Someone told me about this poem today, and I thought it was worth sharing:

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit - rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is q***r with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow - you may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;

Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out - the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and when you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar;
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - it's when things seem worst, you must not quit.

If anyone would like, I can post the actual study. This is an enormous, sound, and useful study. Cannabis is harmful to kids.

Researchers followed more than 400,000 teens until they were adults. It found that those who used ma*****na were more likely to develop serious mental illness, as well as depression and anxiety.

Please take a moment to advocate for recognizing counseling programs as professional training. This has a direct effect on students accessing loans to become counselors. We need more counselors!

Call on the Department of Education to formally recognize Counseling Programs as Professional Programs

The Department of Education (ED) is considering significant reductions to federal student loan limits. Under these new limits, counseling students would only be able to borrow $20,500 annually, potentially pushing students toward expensive private lending or discouraging them from entering the profession.

We have submitted a comment to ED urging them to reclassify counseling programs as professional programs. This would give counseling students access to higher student loan limits ($50,000) and recognizes counselors’ enormous contributions to society and their professional expertise. Join us in telling ED that counseling programs are professional programs!
