I often try to help kids see that the information they see online....while often, technically, correct...lacks context and depth. Diagnosis is a skill learned in intense training and refined over years of practice and continuing education. But kids think it is simple and use the internet to try to understand themselves. I encourage caretakers to take a look at the attached resources. Let's work together to protect our kids against mislabeling and pathologizing their experiences.

Teens can learn a lot from social media, as they are happy to inform us, from how to make cake in the microwave to tips for calming themselves when they feel stressed.
