Your thoughts matter. Your feelings matter. Everything about you matter, but for others to believe that about you, you must first believe you matter. Don’t expect others to treat you the way you deserve to be treated when you are not first treating yourself that way.

“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.” — Agatha Christie

There’s been a lot of foolishness on public display nationally and locally. I find myself getting upset and then I’m reminded of this scripture. “He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.” Proverbs 13:20 NKJV God is still sovereign so I’m going to be quiet 🤫 outwardly and inwardly. Be still, my heart.

Life is full of surprises. How you react to them is what matters.

Happy New Year! Two of my favorite scriptures about a new year, a fresh start, and each day we see after the first day of the year.
Isaiah 43:19
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

3 things we need to practice daily. Self-compassion, self-care, and self-discipline.

My greatest teacher is life. Certainly, this is something that many people take for granted, or simply miscomprehend. When you read this passage, which conveys the issues that shaped my life’s story, I pray you will be inspired to reflect and breathe new life into your own circumstances.
My passion in life is to help anyone whose mere being is constricted by heartache, controversy, and/or setbacks and they long to find peace and self-love. I specialize in empowering the underdog to have a voice and be heard. I was raised in an environment where my voice was censored and my livelihood was muffled. As a child, I was born hearing-impaired and lived with a speech impediment. At three years old, I was molested by a babysitter, which propelled me to develop powerlessness.
My experiences in my childhood impacted my life negatively as a young adult until I was about 25 years old. I enrolled in a Counseling program as a graduate student and that’s when I began telling my story. To be honest, I didn’t have a choice. Every course in this program made me feel like I was being counseled. Although, it was required for us to be counseled, it was the best thing that could have happened to me. This program provided a platform that allowed me to share my former issues of life. I changed mentally, physically, and spiritually throughout the whole Counseling program. I soar-fully rededicated my life to Christ, and my former issues became a catalyst for transformation.
ISSUES of LIFE, INC is my intrinsic way to give back to the community. As life would have it, I was unfairly silenced but found a haven to safely release the bo***ge and barriers of trauma. I realized that I needed to provide a sanctuary for people to proudly be who they are, unapologetically, and tackle their own issues of life without judgment, ridicule, and shame.
I have obtained an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from Mississippi University for Women. I am licensed as a School Counselor in the state of Mississippi and Tennessee. I have also obtained the National Certified Counselor credentials from the National Board of Certified Counselors. I am an Adjunct Professor at East Mississippi Community College teaching Human Growth & Development in spite of my speech impediment. I refuse to allow anything or anyone stop me from being the woman God has called me to be.
