“We joined Spirit Open Equestrian 4 years ago, and it has been a wonderful addition to my son’s weekly routine. He goes for therapeutic riding every Saturday morning and really looks forward to seeing his horse, Coco. The volunteers are very special as well, they are so nice, welcoming and fun! Over the past several years, my son has enjoyed his sessions, and now he especially likes to trot, which is so much fun to watch. We are very grateful to Spirit for bringing joy to our whole family!”

“Kate was having terrible and debilitating anxiety/panic attacks. SPIRIT has really helped her develop coping mechanisms to be able to work through those anxiety/panic attacks. She has connected with the horses so well and loves being around them. The staff at SPIRIT is also so welcoming, thoughtful, and accommodating. We are forever grateful to be part of the SPIRIT family!”

Halloween is coming! From October 25- October 31 we invite all staff, participants, and volunteers to dress up for their lessons and volunteer shifts. To kick off our festive week, save the date for our Halloween Party on Saturday October 25 from 12:30-2:30PM. Join us for photos with our ponies in costume, a decorated barn, and some scary-good treats! Consider making a boo-bag of barn goodies for the horse of your choice- please see the Amazon wishlist “Boo at the Barn” that has all the details and the ponies’ wishlists. We hope you’ll join us to have fun with other SPIRIT families and horses to help support the program.

We have to say it again. Thank you to the volunteers that made lessons today possible! Temps rose quickly and despite everybody melting, we are able to take care of each other and have safe classes. We can not say enough good things about everyone in our SPIRIT community! 🙏
