Every Tuesday, Integrity Healthcare of Herrin rolls out the red carpet for our most dapper employee—Mooch, the impeccably dressed therapy Yorkie who's redefining "business casual."

This pint-sized professional brings more joy per pound than should be legally allowed. Whether he's brightening a resident's day, stealing hearts from visiting families, or reminding our healthcare heroes why Tuesdays are the best days, Mooch proves that the best medicine often comes with four paws and a bowtie.

Fair warning: Side effects of meeting Mooch may include uncontrollable smiling, spontaneous laughter, and an overwhelming urge to ask "Who's a good boy?" (Spoiler: It's Mooch. It's always Mooch.)

🦃 Gobble 'til You Wobble!🦃

What a feast it was at Integrity Healthcare of Herrin! Our Thanksgiving celebration brought together residents, families, and staff for a day filled with gratitude, great food, and even greater company.

From the turkey (which we promise wasn't dry!) to the pumpkin pie (which disappeared faster than you can say "pass the gravy"), every dish was made with love and devoured with joy.

But the real highlight? Seeing our community come together—sharing stories, laughter, and maybe a few dad jokes that were cornier than the casserole. 💛

To our incredible residents: thank you for making this place home. To our families: thank you for trusting us with your loved ones. And to our amazing staff: you're the stuffing that holds everything together!

First Annual Fall Fest: A Sweet Success!

The inaugural Fall Fest at Integrity Healthcare of Herrin proved that autumn fun knows no age limit! Residents, families, and staff came together for an afternoon that was equal parts festive, delicious, and delightfully messy.

The event had something for everyone's inner child—face painting transformed residents into butterflies and superheroes, while the DIY stations kept hands busy and smiles wide. Cupcakes were decorated with more enthusiasm than precision (and possibly more frosting than cake), and the caramel apple station became a sticky, sweet battleground of creativity.

Snow cones provided cool relief between dance-floor sessions, where generations grooved together without a care in the world. Popcorn disappeared faster than it could be popped, fueling both snackers and costume contest spectators alike.

The costume contest was the crown jewel of the day, showcasing everything from classic witches to impressively creative homemade ensembles. Judging by the laughter echoing through the halls and the number of caramel-covered smiles, the real winners were everyone who showed up.

If the First Annual Fall Fest is any indication, Integrity Healthcare of Herrin has started a tradition that's here to stay—preferably with extra napkins next time!

When Heroes Meet Heroes: A Day of Connection at Integrity Healthcare.

The residents and staff of Integrity Healthcare of Herrin recently rolled out the red carpet—and possibly a few red fire trucks—for their friends at the Herrin Fire Department. After extending a warm invitation, our local firefighters traded their usual emergency calls for an afternoon of smiles, stories, and community connection.

The visit was nothing short of spectacular. Our residents lit up brighter than any five-alarm fire as they toured the equipment, tried on helmets, and swapped tales with the brave men and women who keep our community safe. From examining the intricate details of the fire engines to learning about the latest in firefighting technology, curiosity was at an all-time high.

The firefighters, in turn, were treated to the warmth and wisdom that only our residents can provide—proving that the real heroes are often the ones who've been quietly inspiring their communities for decades. Stories were shared, laughter echoed through the halls, and more than a few residents joked about joining the department (after checking with their doctors first, of course).

This wasn't just a visit; it was a reminder that community is built on moments like these—where generations connect, respect flows both ways, and everyone leaves a little better than they arrived. Our heartfelt thanks go to the Herrin Fire Department for taking time out of their demanding schedules to bring joy, excitement, and a few really cool fire trucks to our Integrity Healthcare of Herrin residents!

An Afternoon of Musical Magic with Jeff Wisely!

There is no doubt that our Administrator and Management team at Integrity Healthcare of Herrin are dedicated to providing high quality entertainment when you get a visit from Jeff Wisely! Jeff is the official saxophonist for the SIU Salukis. He brought his extraordinary talent and infectious energy to our community last week, creating an unforgettable experience for residents and staff alike.

The saxophone melodies filled the air with pure magic as Jeff performed a delightful mix of classic favorites, jazz standards, and spirited fight songs that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along. His warm personality and engaging performance style created an atmosphere of pure celebration, bringing smiles to faces throughout the room.

Residents were absolutely captivated by Jeff's musical prowess, with many sharing stories of their own musical memories and dancing along to the familiar tunes. The staff couldn't help but join in the fun, creating a wonderful sense of community and shared joy that exemplified the true spirit of togetherness.
