We are looking to expand our pharmacy team with pharmacy technicians and support staff who share our commitment to patient medication therapy, customer service, and better combined clinical outcomes in a retail setting.

Position: Uncertified Pharmacy Technician
Job Type: full-time
Start date: immediately
Schedule:
• Monday to Friday
• Some Saturdays and no Sundays
Hours per week:
• 28-35
License:
• Pharmacy Tech License in Illinois (Preferred)
• Pharmacy Tech certification (Preferred)

Task Descriptions
• Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Responsible for all aspects related to processing medication orders for various facilities.
• Works on a team to fulfill prescription orders from start to finish with an in-depth understanding of each workstation.
• Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
• Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
• Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s)
• Packs and labels medication orders requested from units, includes unit dose packaging products as indicated.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
• Standing / walking for an extended period of time.
• The ability to see details at close range to perform activities as needed
• Ability to push and pull objects, including drawers and other items of similar weight, as well as reaching overhead.
• Bending/squatting/leaning to a considerable degree and requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
• Is able to load and unload trays/cases/totes (30 pound maximum to a height of 4 feet).
• Effective verbal communication: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, especially when detailed or important instructions must be conveyed accurately.
• Ability to move quickly from one task to another according to the needs of the pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer to have prior work experience with healthcare.
• Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer computer skills.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience:
• Retail Customer Service: 2 year
