Gerri Dyer, FNP-BC joined Southern Illinois Dermatology as an RN in 2002 while working toward her Master’s degree. She has been a Family Nurse Practitioner with us since receiving her degree in 2003. Gerri currently sees patients in our Herrin and Carbondale, Illinois locations.

Gerri resides in Carbondale with her husband, Rich, their children Riley, Eli and Chloe. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family. and sporting events.

We are HIRING! LPN or Surgical Assistant
Southern Illinois Dermatology is a busy dermatology clinic with offices located throughout southern Illinois. We are locally owned and operated by board certified dermatologist, Dr. Ted Van Acker, since 1996. We have proudly served the southern Illinois region for over 25 years! Many of our employees have been employed with us for over 15 years which speaks volumes about our company from the employees' perspective. Come be part of our team!

Southern Illinois Dermatology seeks full time surgical medical assistant or LPN to run with our surgeon and owner, Dr. Van Acker. This position requires travel to our Herrin, Salem, and Murphysboro locations. Most days are in Herrin clinic but Murphysboro clinic is approximately one day per month and Salem clinic is approximately 2-3 days per month.

A surgical medical assistant or LPN performs patient intake, documents within EHR system (Nextgen Heathcare), assists provider with patient care, assists surgeon, removes sutures and performs procedures as allowed under license/training, provides any necessary coordination of care, stocks supplies and other duties as assigned.

Successful candidate should be interested in a clinical career and possess compassion, caring and thoughtfulness for patient care.

We will provide on the job training for the right candidate. The following are requirements of this position:

At least 1 year of recent experience in a physician office or surgical clinic is preferred
Proficiency with computers including Electronic Medical Record systems preferred
A professional positive attitude is required along with good communication skills
Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
Ability to work well with others
Job Type: Full-time
