Clint P. Hill, M.D. – Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon
The Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois

It is with incredible sadness that I inform our community that Clint P. Hill, M.D. passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 in Paducah, KY.

Dr. Hill and his family moved to Paducah in 2009, when he joined with Dr. Brian S. Kern, Dr. K. Brandon Strenge, Dr. Stephen H. Jackson and the late Dr. Burton Stodghill, to form The Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky.

Hill is a native of East Tennessee, growing up in the Gatlinburg area and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After completing his undergraduate work at UT, he attended East Tennessee State University Medical School. From there, Dr. Hill completed a five year orthopaedic surgery residency in Jackson, Mississippi at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Hill completed a long-term fellowship in spinal surgery under the direction of Dr. Robert McGuire. Dr. Hill then moved to the Johnson City, TN area, where he practiced and treated a wide variety of spinal problems and traumatic injuries. Beginning in his residency and through his practice, Dr. Hill was heavily involved in research and product development, throughout the U.S., of more efficacious spinal mplants, the use of alternative bone void fillers to be used with the kyphoplasty procedure, and non-surgical options for treating conditions of the spine. He was a national leader in the development of and education on lateral access spine surgeries.

He was thrilled to have the opportunity to raise his children in Paducah. He loved this community and its people. He was active in community initiatives and was an avid supporter of many child and family focused non-profits.

Our sincere sympathy and prayers are with Dr. Hill’s beautiful family. He never met a stranger. He treated everyone he met, including his partners, co-workers and patients as friends and family. There are no words to explain how much he will be missed.
