💨 Today is World COPD Day! 💨

COPD affects millions—and many don’t even know they have it. Early symptoms like shortness of breath, chronic cough, or fatigue are often overlooked.

This World COPD Day, we encourage everyone to “Think COPD” and take action:
✅ Know the signs
✅ Talk to your doctor
✅ Get screened—especially if you have risk factors like smoking or exposure to pollutants

Early detection can lead to better treatment, improved quality of life, and more breathing room for the future.

Every breath counts. 💙

Today, we raise awareness about diabetes and its impact on millions of lives worldwide.

Managing diabetes is a daily journey—and small steps can make a big difference:
✅ Eat smart: Choose fiber-rich foods like vegetables, whole grains, and fruits.
✅ Stay active: Aim for 30 minutes of movement most days.
✅ Know your ABCs: Track your A1C, Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol.
✅ Plan meals: Use the plate method or count carbs to balance nutrition.
✅ Get support: Connect with your care team or join a support group.

Let’s promote education, early detection, and healthy lifestyle choices to help prevent and manage diabetes.

Together, we can support those affected and work toward a healthier future.

Last month, our Bereavement Team hosted a one-day Camp Erin in Miami-Dade! Some of the activities that were facilitated for the campers included Pet Therapy, Music Therapy, expressive arts decorating memory boxes, and other fun bonding activities.

Thank you to our volunteers and staff volunteers who helped make this one-day bereavement camp a success! We would also like to give a special thanks to our local Miami New York Life office for putting together our camper bags, Cigna for sponsoring additional camper bags and materials for our campers, and Humane Society of Broward County for continuing their support in providing Pet Therapy for our camp!

This wraps up our 2025 Camp Erin season! We truly appreciate all the help in supporting grieving youth and families in our community!

Visit our website and stay tuned at the end of the year for details on our 2026 camp season: www.camperinsouthflorida.org. You can also contact our Camp Erin South Florida team at CampErin@catholichospice.org or (954) 944-2709 to learn more about Camp Erin in the meantime
