We are so very proud to announce that Janey has completed Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 training!

While individual counseling focuses on personal growth, healing, and developing tools for your own mental and emotional wellbeing, couples counseling typically takes a different approach to focus on helping two people improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen their connection together. The Gottman Method is one of the most research-backed approaches in couples therapy, and this training equips Janey with powerful tools to support couples at every stage of their relationship.

Congratulations, Janey! We are so proud of you and grateful for the help and support you provide!

Reach out to MWR Counseling at 319.250.1267 to learn more or schedule with Janey.

We cannot wait for March to arrive so we can welcome Mackenzie Oakley to our team!

Mackenzie will be joining us as an intern as she completes her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Mount Mercy.

Mackenzie works with teens (13+), adults, couples, and families to treat anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family conflicts, eating disorders, body image issues, identity issues, and life transitions. Mackenzie uses a collaborative and systemic approach using modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

All services provided by Mackenzie are offered pro bono, and she has current availability on Wednesday mornings. Give us a call at 319.250.1267 to schedule with Mackenzie!
