Another Testimonial Tuesday at BST💙
"Life can throw you twists- after badly breaking my ankle and subsequent surgery I was fortunate enough to arrive here for care and rehabilitation. Knowing it would be 6 to 8 weeks before I would be able to put weight on my left leg, I wasn't sure when I would be able to go home. It was stressful and hard! I honestly didn't know how I would do it- or could I! Well, the wonderful staff at Big Stone Therapies helped me make it happen! Navigating my wheelchair was easy, but walking (or hopping) with one leg with a walker was another story. At first, I was only able to make it 5 ft. With Katie and Penny cheering me on, at the end I made it 40 ft! Another huge challenge and obstacle were the stairs. If I couldn't go up and down stairs, I could not go in and out of my home. Katie's creativity found a solution to the problem. Laurie in Occupational therapy helped this "weakling" build much needed muscles! Not only did we work out together we visited and had great conversations. She also taught me how to get in and out of my tub, an issue that I hadn't even thought about. Both physical and occupational therapy have cheered me on, encouraged me, and let me know "you can do it!" These wonderful people are not just my friends, but my family. Well a Great new come back to a wonderful successful Halloween!! All staff and family and friends, brought smiles and some funny faces to the residents!!! A huge shout out to the community and our staff, much of this wouldn't have gone as smooth as ot did with out you!!! Thank you 😊 🙏
