Our ADETS class finished up last night. We had an amazing group.

Hi all,
A community member reached out to share about an event and a resource in our area for families.

On 4/2 (3:00pm to 5:00pm), St. Luke’s UMC (52 16th Ave NW, Hickory) is hosting an event for kids and their parents/caretakers to attend called The Gold Ticket Tour. While it is during the Easter season, it is not primarily an Easter event. It is for kids up to 5th grade, and will include lots of activities for them to do and prizes to win....big and small. The grand prize is a trip for 4 to Great Wolf Lodge. All families are welcome to attend – families we work with (birth, foster, kin) and our own. The 3 grand prizes require registration at the event which can be done electronically, but if people choose not register there are still prizes and fun to be had. Second, is the Grace Space which is St. Luke’s clothing closet. Grace Space contains clothing for men, women and kids to include underwear and shoes. There are a lot of clothes and people are allowed to shop (with dignity) to pick out some things they like. I think they are usually allowed to take 2 bags worth of clothes in general, but it depends on the need.
