FryeCare Physicians Network welcomes Emily Keneda, PA-C, a board-certified physician assistant specializing in surgical care, to its medical team. Emily is now seeing patients at FryeCare Specialty Center, located at 415 N. Center St., Suite 203 in Hickory. Same-week appointments are available. During her clinical training, Emily completed diverse rotations in family medicine, general surgery, emergency medicine, pediatric orthopedics, women’s health, internal medicine, psychiatry and outpatient pediatrics. She completed a general surgery rotation at UNC Caldwell in Lenoir, North Carolina, and elective orthopedic rotations in both trauma and pediatric settings in South Carolina. Throughout her training, she scrubbed in on more than 70 surgical cases and gained experience in both inpatient and outpatient surgical settings.

Emily is now seeing patients at FryeCare Women’s Services, located at 1781 Tate Blvd., Suite 201 in Hickory. Same-week appointments are available. Emily brings extensive clinical experience in women’s health, including labor and delivery. She previously served as a registered nurse at Frye Regional, where she supported patients through labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care. In recognition of her compassionate care and commitment to patients, Emily received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses® in 2024.

From crutches to the starting line. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

After tearing her ACL, Jessica Prevette wasn’t sure she’d run again – especially after a second injury. With expert care from Dr. Reid Russell, orthopedic surgeon, she’s turning recovery into a comeback.

“This time last year, I was still on crutches,” Jessica said. “Now I’m preparing to run a 5K this weekend.”

We’re excited to see Jessica cross the starting line at the City of Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism 5K – a full-circle moment in her recovery journey.
