Take the plunge for a great cause 💙

The 2026 Hickory Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics North Carolina is now open for registration.�

Registration for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge 2026 is now open!

The Hickory Police Department will be hosting its annual Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 21, 2026, to benefit the Special Olympics of North Carolina. The event will be held at The Hickory Foundation YMCA outdoor pool located at 701 1st Street NW in Hickory.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with the plunge starting at 1 p.m. A minimum donation of $50 is required to participate. Students with a student ID can participate for $25.
