Dear Hickory Village Families… during our winter storms… please rest assure that your loved ones will be safe, cared for, warm, and protected. We have such a dedicated crew that have decided to come and have a “slumber party” with your loved ones filled with enriching activities, yummy hot chocolate, movies w/ the staff, and card games to enjoy the company of each other.

Im not crying… you’re crying…

Each day we have worked in my office doing what I thought was going to be a simple craft… just a normal cute valentines craft we could put on the wall… nothing major ya know?!

Well… as we started crafting the residents came in and all sat and told me what LOVE meant to them. Years of memories and stories poured out of their little hearts. A few tears were shed when one specific moment came about…

You make mornings worth it. I can feel terrible and you make getting up in the mornings better. I KNOW you will be strolling in with your smile and singing to us. You will be coming around to each table bringing us coffee and telling us silly stories… dancing around the tables. You’re always in such a good mood. It rubs off on “us” ya know?

(It took ALLLLLLLLLL I had not to break down into a blubbering mess!!!)

Needless to say… It made me think about things so much differently. We often go about our days not paying no mind to how we can make such a huge difference with those we often share the day with. But.. WE ALL… each and every single one of us… make such a HUGE DIFFERENCE… each and every day!!!

I’m proud of the crew I work with, I’m proud of all the love and constant care we give our residents, the relationships we build with each other, the dedication we show every day…

I guess you could say…
I JUST LOVE THEM TO PIECES!!!!
