"Don't just learn, experience.
Don't just read, absorb.
Don't just change, transform.
Don't just relate, advocate.
Don't just promise, prove.
Don't just criticize, encourage.
Don't just think, ponder.
Don't just take, give.
Don't just see, feel.
Don’t just dream, do.
Don't just hear, listen.
Don't just talk, act.
Don't just tell, show.
Don't just exist, live."

Day 5 of challenge

TRUST

Prompt - Where am I being asked to trust the unfolding?

Affirmation - I trust the timing of my life.

Julie Campbell, our newest edition at HPYS (she teaches Mondays at 9:30 and Chair Yoga on Friday at 10:30), gave us her thoughts on trust...

"Trust is accepting all of life's unpredictables. When we trust, we let go of the need for control and believe that things happen for a reason, whether we know what that reason is or not. Child's Pose builds trust by grounding in rest and self-reliance. It encourages us to let go and just be."

Join the challenge by taking a pic of what trust means to you, post it, then tag us.

GRATITUDE

Prompt - What carried me through the darker moments of this year?

Affirmation - I am thankful for what has sustained me.

Justin gave us his take on what "gratitude" means to him...

13 Days of Solstice

Day 4: Gratitude

"I am grateful for my big wonderful family; for the grit that I found along the way; for music; for my community; to be alive; for yoga...and for all of you.

Remember the hard times... the ugly & the dark times: be grateful for them and the lessons they taught.

That makes it so much easier to find and live in gratitude today.

Day 3 of 13 Days of Solstice Challenge

FORGIVENESS

Prompt - Where can I soften toward myself or another?

Affirmation - I release the past and make space for peace.

gave us the most vulnerable, perfect example of forgiveness -

"I am learning to soften towards myself and the way I look at my body. Through all the ebs and flows and stages our bodies experience, we have to remember to forgive ourselves when we gain a few pounds or feel like we aren’t strong enough or whatever else makes us insecure about how we look. Remember, your heart beats and sends blood through your veins, your nose breathes air into your lungs. You laugh. You dance. You play. All because our bodies are able. Love who you are, even if that looks different in certain seasons."

How do you define forgiveness? Post it and tag us.

Much love to everyone - you're doing great 💙

13 DAYS OF SOLSTICE CHALLENGE

Day 2 – Release

Prompt - What am I ready to set down as this year closes?

Affirmation - I let go with compassion and ease.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

What has to say about "release"

"I am ready to set down expectations and busyness—the pressure to keep pushing, doing, and meeting standards that drain my energy. I’m releasing the rush, the noise, and the weight of trying to hold everything together. As I lay these down, I make room for rest, presence, and a pace that feels aligned with who I am becoming."

HOW TO PARTICIPATE -

Do anything that symbolizes "release" for you. A yoga pose, an activity, whatever. Take a pic, post it, tag us.

Well, that was one for the books.

We say it all the time and we mean. This community, hands down, is the best yoga community in the Triad.

2 - Journaling or a book
3 - Meditation and a mudra (dyana mudra)
4 - A yoga pose

HOW TO PARTICIPATE -

You don't have to memic what Jenn did. She did a great job giving examples but we want you to do what signifies "stillness".

❄️❄️❄️ CHALLENGE TIME ❄️❄️❄️

We gather at the threshold of the year, in the dark, in the quiet, in the pause that the earth itself takes.

The 13 Days of the Winter Solstice are not owned by any single tradition. They arise from layered wisdom: lunar rhythms, earth-based seasonal practices, ancestral remembering, and the yogic understanding that stillness precedes transformation. Like our community, these teachings are a patchwork - many paths, one shared space.

This is the longest night of the year. Not something to rush through, but something to rest within.

Over these thirteen days, we are not here to fix ourselves or strive toward a better version of who we are. We are here to listen. To soften. To tend the inner flame that never truly goes out, even when the world feels dim.

May this be a time where rest is honored, intuition is trusted, and light is welcomed back slowly, exactly as it returns in nature.

❄️❄️❄️ HOW TO PARTICIPATE ❄️❄️❄️

13 Days of Solstice is a gentle, intentional yoga journey honoring the turning of the year.

Beginning on the Winter Solstice (12/21), we move through thirteen days of intentional practices designed to support rest, reflection, and quiet renewal. Each day offers a theme inspired by seasonal wisdom, lunar cycles, and yogic introspection.

This is not a challenge of effort or achievement. It is an invitation to move inward, to release what no longer serves, and to emerge gently - carrying your own light forward.

All bodies, all backgrounds, and all levels of experience are welcome.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO "DO YOGA" TO PARTICIPATE! This is a challenge that aligns with your true nature. If you journal, snap a pic (not of your entry!). If you take a walk in nature, snap a pic. Painter? Snap a pic.

This challenge is about introspection and wisdom. Listen to your heart and reflect on what this season has brought into your life.
