On Friday, a very successful week one of The Melvin and Ruth Witcher Adult Day Center at Pennybyrn came to a close. There was much joy and laughter as friendships were formed, new interests discovered, and we all learned some fun facts about October! Did you know that Pothus, October’s Plant of the Month, can grow as long as 65 feet? From chair volleyball and creating beautiful fall wreaths to crowning the first co****le champion of the week, all are excited to see what this week brings!

Pennybyrn's Pink Party!

We were blessed to have the Invision Diagnostics mobile mammogram unit visit Pennybyrn. There were 20 women on our team who received a mammogram today! We are so proud of their commitment to health and wellness, while also raising awareness for others. They are true winners in the fight against breast cancer. Many team members made this event possible, and we are so appreciative for their hard work and dedication. THANK YOU!

We are truly grateful to the High Point Enterprise for their beautiful coverage of yesterday’s farewell event, held for our Independent Living resdients, honoring our beloved Sisters at Pennybyrn. Jimmy Tomlin’s story, “Pennybyrn bids fond farewell to retiring sisters,” captured the emotion and history of the day beautifully.

We are proud to celebrate Lily Alexander, Life Plan Advisor and valued member of our Marketing Team, on her recent graduation from the Leadership High Point Program!

As part of this year’s class project, Lily and her classmates brought to life “The Oasis at the Arc,” a beautiful sensory patio created for the Arc of High Point. The Oasis engages all the senses with a vibrant mural, fragrant mint and lavender, soothing wind chimes, textured rocks, and inviting furniture and greenery.

Thanks in part to Lily’s dedicated fundraising efforts, securing auction donations from 12 companies and helping raise more than $2,500 through the class auction, the project raised $15,000 to build the sensory garden.

We are grateful for Lily’s commitment to Pennybyrn’s mission of “Demonstrating God’s love for the lives we touch.”
