Play is a powerful way to build communication. Using hands-on activities like play dough alongside AAC supports children in expressing themselves, making choices, and connecting in meaningful ways—one moment at a time. 🧡

Less pressure. More connection. 💜

Sometimes progress happens when we do less: fewer toys for better focus, fewer questions to reduce overwhelm, and more observing to truly understand what your child is communicating. Simple strategies can make a big difference.

Speech therapy isn’t always about saying sounds 💬

Sometimes it’s about finding a way to communicate — through technology, play, and connection.

AAC gives children a voice while their verbal language continues to grow 💛

Every child deserves to be understood.

Speech therapy is not one-size-fits-all.

Across today’s sessions, our clients worked on building communication skills in ways that match their individual needs and learning styles. We used play, movement, visuals, and structured supports to help strengthen meaningful language and confidence.

Goals we targeted included:

functional communication (requesting, commenting, asking for help)

expanding language and expressing ideas clearly

improving attention and participation during tasks

increasing independence with communication

Progress looks different for everyone—but every step forward matters.

Sensory stimulation is a PLUS in speech therapy.

In this session, we used movement (vestibular input) to help this elementary student feel regulated and engaged—so he could focus on communication.

While he was spinning, we targeted:

functional language (“again,” “stop,” “go”)

expressing ideas (“I want more,” “my turn,” “faster/slower”)

reducing echolalia by expanding scripts into meaningful phrases

When a child’s body feels organized, their words come out with more purpose.
