Today was a special day at the Community Clinic of High Point. At our Board of Directors meeting, we had the joy of hearing directly from some of our incredible volunteers.

Nicole Kellan, an HPU student, shared her experience serving in triage. She shows up with compassion and dedication to our patients week after week. đź’ś

Caryl Adams spoke about her work in Medical Records and general clinic duties. She quietly and faithfully keeps us running behind the scenes. 🧡

And then we heard from Connie DiLeo. đź’™

Connie has been a cornerstone of our Eligibility team for 7 years. She has given 3,504 hours of her time, her heart, and her energy to ensure our patients receive the care they deserve. Today, in a unanimous vote by our entire staff, Connie became the first-ever recipient of the CCHP Volunteer of the Year Award. Seeing the love and respect in the room reminded all of us why this work matters.

To every volunteer who walks through our doors: you are not just helping us serve this community. You are the heart of this community.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. 🤍

Every December, volunteers help our signature fundraiser, Puttin' on the Grits, come to life! From cooking bacon to serving grits, and setting tables to washing dishes, this event would not be possible without the help of our community of volunteers.

"Thank You!" for making our 20th Annual event our most successful Puttin' on the Grits to date. We raised over $116,000 and hosted more than 500 guests!

Mark your calendar for this year's event, December 5, 2026. 📆

Today is World Health Day, a day observed every year on April 7 to mark the founding of the World Health Organization.

This year’s theme is “Together for health. Stand with science.”—a call to trust evidence, support science led solutions, and work collectively to protect the health of people, animals, and our planet.

From prevention to innovation, science helps us live longer, healthier lives. Today, let’s celebrate collaboration, evidence based care, and the shared responsibility we all have in building a healthier future

It’s National Nutrition Month and what better way to celebrate than have Selena and Kim from Carolina Core Nutrition drop by the clinic to speak with our staff about nutritional improvements.

Their first education session covered nutrition, healthy eating, and how to improve overall health. Plans are in the works to hopefully expand this program to include patients with the goal of reducing BMIs, blood sugars and blood pressure readings with the knowledge the patients gain.

Thanks so much to Selena, Kim and Carolina Core Nutrition for sharing their ideas with us!

🌸 Spring Allergies? We've Got You Covered!

As flowers bloom and pollen fills the air, many of us start sneezing, sniffling, and rubbing our eyes. But you don’t have to suffer through the season — a few smart habits can help you breathe easier:

âś… Keep windows closed on high-pollen days.
âś… Change clothes and shower after being outside.
âś… Use a HEPA filter or air purifier indoors.
âś… Rinse nasal passages with saline to ease congestion.
âś… Stay hydrated to soothe irritated tissues.
âś… Check daily pollen counts before heading out.

Spring should feel refreshing — not miserable. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other this allergy season!
