Last week, Foundations Health – High Point hosted our Annual Easter Egg Hunt for patients. Throughout the day, patients participated by searching for Easter eggs, all while keeping an eye out for the coveted Golden Egg. Seven lucky patients who found the Golden Egg won a coordinating Easter basket filled with practical, everyday items. We’re proud to provide a welcoming, non judgmental environment where patients can focus on their recovery while also having a little fun along the way. Recovery is about progress, connection and moments of joy, and we’re honored to celebrate those moments together.

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we reflect on the resilience, strength and leadership of women throughout history. Women also face unique challenges related to substance use disorders, including higher rates of trauma exposure, caregiving responsibilities and stigma that can make seeking help more difficult. But recovery stories from women across the country remind us of something powerful: healing is possible.

At Foundations Health, we support women in recovery through compassionate, evidence-based care—including medications for opioid use disorder, counseling and supportive services. Our OTPs are able to support women through pregnancy and beyond. Our programs are designed to help individuals rebuild their lives.

To every woman in recovery: your strength matters, your story matters and your future matters. Learn more about treatment and recovery: https://bit.ly/4sFPY8q.

Siobhan Morse, Product Director, shares her "why". "My why is to be helpful, to know myself as a contribution. I spent so many years in active addiction, and just plain 'taking' that I’m super grateful for the opportunity to help others enter recovery and to be part of something bigger than myself that helps so many people."

That’s what we are about at Foundations Health. Our OTPs help people struggling with opioid use disorder, and all that goes with it, to enter recovery, reclaim their lives and be their best selves. We offer methadone, counseling, peer support and psychiatric services in a stigma-free environment. We are here to help. Visit https://bit.ly/4t9bP7W to learn more.

Housing insecurity creates a huge barrier to entering recovery for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). When individuals do not have housing, they often lack the stability to enter and/or maintain treatment. According to the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM), “housing instability significantly impacts the recovery process for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).” The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) includes access to safe and stable housing as one of the four dimensions of recovery. Unfortunately, there are still places that do not understand the recovery process and the importance of medications for opioid use recovery.

Foundations Health High Point OTP and Justice Catalyst Law are working together to help ensure access to safe, stable places to live for individuals struggling with OUD. We are here to help. At Foundations Health High Point OTP, we help our patients find local housing. But if you or someone you know was:
•Denied entry to a residential treatment program
•Kicked out of housing or a treatment facility
•Told you must detox or taper off your prescribed MOUD (methadone, buprenorphine or Suboxone)

Please contact Justice Catalyst Law at https://bit.ly/4tcib6I or call the NC MOUD hotline at 984-259-3682.
