Providence Place

Providence Place Providence Place is a faith-based, nonprofit retirement community in High Point, NC, that's been serving seniors since the early 1970s.

We offer independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory support. Providence Place has dedicated itself to senior healthcare and housing in High Point and the Triad. We have grown to include a large campus on Westchester Drive, home to our Independent Living (Westchester Village), Assisted Living (The Harbour) and Skilled Nursing (Westchester Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center) facilities, as well as the Providence Place Administrative offices. Our outreach stretches beyond High Point and into the community at large because ministering to the health and well-being of our elder population has no geographical bias.

We had a deliciously exciting treat this week at Providence Place! Aimee Reimann, our Chief Operating Officer, and Glen Berkel, Senior Director of Hospitality from our EveryAge home office, stepped into the kitchen as guest chefs for our residents.

They wowed everyone by whipping up two classic showstoppers: Cherries Jubilee and Bananas Foster — complete with all the flair you’d expect from these flaming favorites! 🔥✨

Residents enjoyed the sweet creations during our ice cream social, and the room was filled with smiles, laughter, and the aroma of warm cherries and caramelized bananas.

A huge thank‑you to Aimee and Glen for bringing such fun, flavor, and hospitality to our community! ❤️🍨

❤️🍽️ A Sweet Valentine’s Celebration at Providence Place! 💕

Providence Place hosted a special Valentine’s Day lunch for our wonderful couples at Westchester Manor, and the day couldn’t have been more heartfelt.

We served a beautifully prepared lunch followed by a delicious dessert, creating the perfect setting for our couples to relax, enjoy, and celebrate together.

To top it all off, we ended the afternoon with a Valentine‑themed photo op, giving each couple a fun keepsake to remember the day. 📸❤️

It was a lovely celebration filled with joy, connection, and love — just the way Valentine’s Day should be!

💌 Spreading Valentine’s Cheer at Providence Place! 💖

We were thrilled to welcome members of the Miss High Point organization, a local volunteer‑driven nonprofit affiliated with the Miss America Opportunity.

Keri Small, the current Miss High Point, visited us along with Pressley, a young lady she is mentoring. They helped deliver Valentine cards, share smiles, and brighten everyone’s day.

A special thank‑you to Mary Hawley Hines, the organization’s leader, for coordinating this wonderful visit.

It was a huge success — our participants loved the cards, the conversation, and the kindness these young women brought to Providence Place. ❤️

🌬️❄️ With dangerously cold temperatures expected across NC and VA this weekend, now is the time to step up for our older neighbors. In‑person check‑ins and a solid plan are essential before the winter storm arrives this Saturday.

Start with a quick safety checklist:
⚠️ Is their heating system working properly?
⚠️ Do they have enough food?
⚠️ Do they have their medications and essential supplies?

Once you’ve checked the basics, here are five ways you can make a big difference:

1️⃣ Make a plan ahead of time. Reach out now so they know they can count on you if the weather gets rough.
2️⃣ Check in before and after storms. A quick call or knock at the door can ensure they’re warm, safe, and prepared.
3️⃣ Stay in regular contact. Extreme cold can be isolating — even a brief daily check‑in matters.
4️⃣ Help with shoveling and icy walkways. Preventing slips and falls is crucial. If you’re already outside clearing snow, consider doing their walkway too.
5️⃣ Bring a warm meal, hot drink, or essentials. And if you live in North Carolina… you know the drill: don’t wait for them to ask — just take them the milk and bread!

❄️❤️ Let’s show what a caring community looks like.

Check on your neighbors. Keep each other safe.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., along with his tireless work in promoting civil rights. King dedicated his life to speaking out against inequality, injustice, poverty, and war before being assassinated in 1968. This national holiday also seeks to draw attention to King's use of non-violence to bring about meaningful change and to his belief in the value of public service.

On this day of service, we extend heartfelt gratitude to Trinity Rehab, Westchester Harbour, Westchester Manor, EveryAge staff, and our entire community for their generosity and compassion.

What began as a simple idea from Trinity Rehab has grown into a meaningful Blessing Table for our residents. Now, staples like pasta, canned vegetables, snacks, and more are readily available to anyone who may be in need. Your kindness continues to make a difference—today and every day.
