Tomorrow is the day. Five years ago, I moved back to the area, starting a brand new chapter in my life. I wasn’t sure what type of like-minded community I would find in my home town. And then of course, nearly right after moving here we went into lockdown and I started a life on Zoom. It wasn’t until I treated myself to a wheel throwing pottery class with and she told me about this quaint little studio on a lake called that I finally started finding my people. Yesterday, as I sat in my backyard enjoying this beautiful East Coast spring weather, I had tears of gratitude in my eyes, thinking about this community that fills my heart in so many ways. The students turned friends that are willing to take time out of their day to help you lug heavy tents and tables and chairs across town. The ones that show up to class with flowers, and vegan brownies, and gifts for no specific reason other than to say, “hey, I appreciate you”. The amazing teachers who immediately say YES when you tell them about your crazy idea to start a local yoga festival. The musicians driving from 2+ hours away, just to chant a few songs and help people connect with the divine and their innermost self. At first the spiritual journey feels like a solo one, until you find your Sangha and realize none of us need walk alone. Grateful for every twist and turn that led me back here, and led me to an experience like we will all have together tomorrow. Thank you thank you thank you.
