In today’s news we will look at 5 science-inspired ways to banish stress for good.

Chronic or elevated stress not only burns us out, but it can kill.
Here are 5 science inspired ways you can better handle the stress in your life.
1. Breathe, stop (and shake): According to Harvard Medical School, just a few, easy deep breaths, from your abdomen will reset your system and shift you towards relaxation.
2. Get Curious: Your brain does not work well when under stress; however curiosity hacks the stress response, shifting your thoughts from rumination and worry into creative reflection.
3. Hug it out: Hugging a loved one releases the hormone, oxytocin which can induce anti-stress-like effects such as reduction of blood pressure, repair of muscles, brain tissue and neurons.
4. Get into your body: By getting to know your own body’s sensations, you will be able to anticipate changes in your emotional state which will allow you to better handle moments of stress.
5. Feel the love. Studies support that feelings of love and connection reduce stress hormones.
Small amounts of stress are a part of life; however we don’t have to let it dominate our lives.

By finding positive, healthy ways to handle your stress, you can avoid the negative health risks associated with stress and become a happier and healthier you.

We appreciate the trust you place in us. Our highest priority is keeping everyone as safe as possible, including both patients and staff members.
Please call for an appointment.

-We are complying with all CDC Guidelines.
-We ask that only the individual who is being treated enter the
office.
-All patients are still required to wear a mask or face-covering
to enter the office.
-All patients are asked to maintain 6-foot distancing protocols
whenever possible.
-When you enter the office, we request that you sanitize your
hands with our supplied hand sanitizers.
-Our staff is highly trained to keep their hands clean and
workstations sanitized.
-After each patient's appointment, we disinfect our tables
using a non-toxic disinfectant.
-Our staff also performs a thorough cleaning of the office
multiple times each day.
-In order to comply with social distancing recommendations,
we request that you please do not linger before or after your
adjustment. (We normally do love the usual social
interaction, but this is for all of our protection.
-We are closely monitoring the evolving situation. If other
measures are needed, especially those that would impact
your in-office visit, we will certainly be in touch.

Please keep your immune system at peak function with proper nutrition, exercise and rest. Relaxation and meditation techniques will help. Please don't hesitate to contact us with further questions.
