Happiness isn't a personality trait. It's often the result of small, repeated moments of care. If life feels heavy right now, don't aim for "joy." Aim for supportive. Gentle. Sustainable. Which of these feels most doable this week?

An ADOS evaluation can offer clarity and direction for adults who have long had questions about autism.

This type of evaluation looks at social communication, interaction, and behavioral patterns through a structured and supportive process. For many people, it provides a better understanding of themselves and helps guide next steps, whether that includes therapy, workplace accommodations, or additional support.

Seeking an evaluation is not about labeling. It is about gaining insight, validation, and access to resources that can be helpful moving forward.

At Aspen Counseling Services, we take time to explain results, answer questions, and make sure you feel supported throughout the entire process.

Call to learn more or schedule an ADOS evaluation.

"March 20 is the International Day of Happiness.

But happiness does not always look like constant joy.

It is possible to feel grateful while also feeling overwhelmed.
Hopeful while still carrying uncertainty.
Happy while something heavy is still present.

Human emotions are rarely simple. Many feelings can exist at the same time, and that is a normal part of being human.

Today can be a reminder that happiness does not require ignoring difficult emotions. Sometimes it simply means allowing space for both."

Spring is a natural time to reset, not just your space, but your mindset.

Mental clutter can show up as constant thoughts, overwhelm, or feeling mentally exhausted. A simple check-in can help you notice what your mind may be holding onto.

At Aspen Counseling Services, we support clients in creating mental clarity through thoughtful, personalized care. Therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and build tools that support everyday well-being.

If you have been feeling mentally overloaded, this season can be a gentle opportunity to reset.

Medication management is a supportive, ongoing process, not a quick fix.

For some people, therapy alone is enough. For others, medication can help reduce symptoms so therapy and daily life feel more manageable. This approach includes a psychiatric evaluation, thoughtful prescribing, and regular follow-ups to ensure your care continues to fit your needs.

If you’re unsure whether medication could help, or questioning whether your current plan is working, you don’t have to navigate that alone.

Call today to schedule a medication consultation and talk with a provider about your options.

The moment you stop asking "am I doing enough?" and start asking "what do I need?" everything shifts.

So much of women's mental health goes unspoken. The exhaustion that looks like strength. The anxiety that looks like being "on top of things." The loneliness that hides behind staying busy.

You are allowed to have needs. You are allowed to not be okay. And you are allowed to ask for help, without explaining yourself.

This Women's Day, let this be your reminder: softness is not weakness. Rest is not laziness. Asking for support is one of the bravest things you can do.

Drop a 🌸 below if you know a woman who deserves to see this.

Many times throughout the hour, day, week, month, or more, we have small wins we may not realize.
These are just a few small therapy wins you may not realize.
You paused before reacting: You took a breath instead of spiraling
You Were Kinder to yourself: When you made a mistake, you didn't get mad at yourself and moved forward
You reached out instead of shutting down: You were strong and asked for the help you needed in that moment.
Celebrate your small wins and recognize them for what they are.

Inconveniences happen, and they don’t mean you’re doing life wrong
Small mindset shifts can soften the way your day feels and support your mental well-being.
Try using the 10-10-10 Reality Check, which is a therapeutic technique. If it only matters in 10 minutes, respond with problem-solving, not emotion. You can also try setting a reminder for a later time to see if it feels any different at that later point in time. It may not feel any different, but you've given yourself time to process.

Your well-being matters, today and every day.

Meet Dr. Frances Liu!
We're so grateful to have Dr. Liu as part of the Aspen Counseling Services team. As a board-certified pediatrician specializing in pediatric mental health medication management, she's dedicated to helping children and young adults ages 5-21 thrive through expert mental health care. Dr. Liu is known for her compassionate, family-centered approach, working closely with families to develop personalized treatment plans that address both the medical and emotional aspects of mental health. She uses evidence-based pharmacological treatment and innovative tools like pharmacogenetic testing to ensure each young patient receives the most effective care possible. Dr. Liu also collaborates with the community to connect her patients with quality therapy services, creating a comprehensive support system for every child she serves. When she's not in the office caring for her patients, you'll find her cooking up something delicious for friends and family, traveling to new destinations with her husband, or enjoying a friendly game of pickleball.
We're so lucky to have such a caring, experienced, and well-rounded provider on our team!
