Nancy, Leola and I went for a drive today! Just couldn't get the other girls to go along. We traveled all around Horton (after getting ice cream, of course!), then went on to Everest and all around there. We came home going north from Everest, past Upper Wolf Lutheran Church...traveled some country I haven't been to for awhile! It was beautiful out, even though a bit windy!

We took another beautiful drive today, through the girls' old stomping grounds of Sparks, Fanning, Troy and Wathena! And please rest assured - all pictures taken were from a parked car! We saw the old sites of Sparks - and heard stories of the picnics they had attended, events they had been at, and Helen met her husband at a Sparks picnic! Such good memories. From there we went through Troy and viewed the beautiful courthouse, as well as some lovely homes. And one of our favorite spots in Wathena is the ornamental garden out north. Such beautiful landscaping! We saw sites where relatives had lived, friends' old homes, etc. Such a beautiful day! The only "downer" was that we had to "settle" for Casey's ice cream sandwiches as The Barn was closed!

And FINALLY..."on the road again!!!" Nancy, Helen, Leola and I took another road trip today...drove around Sabetha and saw some beautiful sites! The day was truly beautiful out...and we're anxiously awaiting the beautiful colors that are coming soon! More trips to follow!

For those of you new to us, we will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We do a lot of trivia, fun mind games, road trips...and to this we will be adding baking cookies, music programs, parties...and more fun to come!
