Several GriefShare groups are forming that we thought you may be interested in learning about.
GriefShare is a 12-week series of small group gatherings led by persons who know what it’s like to lose a loved one and want to help. Weekly two-hour sessions have a video format with support group discussion and time for personal study and reflection.
GriefShare support groups meet weekly around the world. Sponsor churches usually host two 12-week series during the year: one beginning in February and the other in September, although schedules vary. While the programs are church sponsored, they are non-denominational and open to everyone. You can visit or join a group at any time, and attend as many meetings as you like.

One of the best things about attending a grief support group is the reassurance that you are not alone. Grief can feel very lonely, and sometimes isolating. Although no two people experience grief in the exact same way, by attending a support group, you may find that other people go through feelings and struggles that are similar to your own. Support group can provide you with a haven of understanding.
Another benefit is the healing that comes in helping and giving. You are learning a lot about yourself, life and other people in your grief. Support groups provide an opportunity for you to guide and support someone else in their grief struggle, while you learn from their wisdom.
A grief support group may be very helpful to deal with the death of a loved one, but it is not necessarily for everyone. It might be too soon for you to share your personal journey or to experience someone else’s feelings or emotions. You may have other reservations about attending. If you aren’t sure, call and discuss your concerns with the group contact person, or call us. We’ll be happy to help.
If you are seeking more individual care at this time, we can also help you find one-on-one grief counseling available in your area.
