Indian Pink! Nearly impossible to get a semi-in-focus pic in this wind.
Also, I saw my first red admiral butterfly of the season after complaining last night about not seeing any yet this year. I learned recently that Pennsylvania pellitory is their host plant, and I usually rip that out because of the burrs. Needless to say, I've left every single one this year.

I'm in the back, picking strawberries (and a couple of early red raspberries) and thinking there's really nothing better than fresh picked strawberries warmed by the sun.

And then I saw this.

My tiny little American cranberry is blooming! Holy cow! The dream is: one day, I will be able to make cranberry sauce from the yard. That day is still far in the future because there are only 2 blossoms, but the dream just got closer!

The irises are beginning to bloom and it already is the best year yet for them. Maybe I won't move them after all.

I'm really focusing on the backyard, in a slightly haphazard way. Today's ICDAF15M was more like an hour of dandelion removal, followed by lily of the valley and english ivy, with a healthy dose of RoS. And a few random black cherry trees. The method to my madness is working the edges in.
