🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀

En Fenix Family Health Center, apoyamos a las personas que están luchando, celebramos a las sobrevivientes y honramos la memoria de quienes hemos perdido. 💗

Aunque el cáncer de mama es más común en mujeres, los hombres también pueden desarrollarlo. Por eso, la detección temprana es clave para todos.

Una mamografía o chequeo a tiempo puede salvar vidas. No esperes para cuidar tu salud y anima a tus seres queridos a hacer lo mismo.

🌟 A huge thank you to the Illinois Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (IAFCC) for awarding Fenix Family Health Center their generous grant! 🌟

With this generous support, we were able to provide glucometers and other essential tools to help our patients living with type 2 diabetes better manage their health. 🩺💙

We were thrilled to finally welcome our partners from @‌rosalindfranklinuniversity for an in-person visit to the clinic! 🙌🏽✨
We’ve built a strong referral relationship, constantly collaborating and sending patients back and forth to ensure they receive the best care possible. Seeing that partnership in action, face-to-face, made it all the more meaningful.

Some quick facts about Fenix! Fenix began in 2009, and is named for the mythological bird that was reborn from its own ashes. During these 12 years, we have served over 9,500 patients. In addition, we have provided health education and female empowerment to over 2,000 people in the community. Fenix provides all of these services at a cost that is 75% lower than the other providers in our area.

We want to welcome Michael! He joined us last Monday as our new medical assistant. Michael recently moved from New York City where he loved working with children. He is originally from the Dominican Republic where he received MD training, and we are so lucky to have him at Fenix!
